The ACBO 2021 Fall Conference will be held in person in San Diego! It's been such a rollercoaster the last year and a half. While we enjoyed seeing all of your creative Zoom backgrounds, we are really looking forward to being back together again to see all your faces in real life! The ACBO Board and conference planning team are busy putting together the program for the fall conference - things may be a little different to address things happening based on current events and climate for California community colleges. Stay tuned to this page as more details become available. We are currently planning for an in person event. Should it be deemed necessary to pivot to a virtual conference you will be contacted to determine how you would like to proceed.

We will not have a virtual or Zoom meeting option.**
Please note: There will not be a golf tournament for the 2021 Fall Conference.
We know some of you have concerns about the Delta variant and risks involved in travel and attendance in person. We want all of you to know, we hear you. We are listening. We are constantly evaluating all-things-safety around being in person in the San Diego area. We are exploring every possible option to deliver the best, safest possible experience for all of our attendees and in a manner that is financially feasible for the organization. As such, below are a few updates. Further updates will be provided when and as needed.
As the pandemic continues to evolve, and the state experiences a surge in cases, we have decided to update our requirements for those attending the conference. We will be requiring face masks for ALL attendees, regardless of vaccine status, while indoors and not actively eating or drinking. This is in line with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and local health authorities.
Additionally, we plan for maximum distancing (space allowing) in the meeting, exhibit, reception and registration areas (i.e. 5-6 per banquet round instead of ten and tables spaced further apart) and were able to secure additional space from the hotel in order to make that happen. Conference check-in will be one stop / one touch with registration items contained and handed to each registrant all at once and hand sanitizer stations will be everywhere! Our conference location also offers multiple opportunities to be outdoors and in the fresh air.
In the end, each of us absolutely must make the decisions that are best for ourselves and our health and safety but also know we are working to provide you the safest options for the in person experience we're all craving.
Conference activities generally run from 9am on Monday through noon on Wednesday.

All cancellations are subject to a $100 processing fee. Submit your cancellation requests to firstname.lastname@example.org. No cancellations will be accepted after Friday, October 8, 2021. All "no shows" will be assessed the full conference fee.

It’s our first conference back in person in 2 years! Your safety and the safety of our presenters, staff and attendees is our first priority. The conference planning team is taking every precaution to make sure you feel comfortable returning to our exclusive event. Our sponsors are important to us! At the same time, it is also important to us to maintain the integrity of the conference and maximize the time for peer-to-peer networking and educational opportunities. We want you to be happy with the investment you make in ACBO and for the conference to hold the same value for our CBO attendees.
Opportunities range from the highest visibility (Diamond) to the benefit of visibility and most affordable (Bronze) participation levels. The following grid provides a brief description of the various opportunities available. We anticipate 150 to 225 attendees including sponsor representatives and presenters, up to 120 of these will be CBO’s and other college employee’s.
SPONSOR CANCELLATION POLICY:
There will be no refunds for cancellations of your sponsorship after September 17th, 2021. If you sign up for sponsorship after September 17th, 2021, please note you will not be eligible for a refund if you cancel your participation in the event.

Each year at the ACBO Fall Conference, the ACBO Achievement of Excellence Award is presented to professionals in California community college business administration who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and exemplary service as Chief Business Officials in their respective districts and the state of California. Through this award, ACBO has honored our colleagues since 1988 for their many accomplishments and outstanding service to California community colleges. The award will be presented at the 2021 fall conference in San Diego.
